I remember wanting to begin a new adventure in my life upon my retirement. I was so excited to find this jewel of a home on the beach and malecon (boardwalk) on the edge of downtown Playas. I can easily walk to any business or community event. It was and has been perfect. In life, all things come to an end, due to physical changes as one ages. In this moment, I am choosing to return to live closer to family: it is my time. A dear friend once told me on one of her many visits to my coastal jewel, “You are living a dream in your beautiful beach home.” I had to agree … it has been a dream. In 2015, all appliances and most of the furniture were brought from US in a container. The custom cabinets in each room are made of roble wood• aka oak in US. A hot water jacuzzi was custom built on the patio for privacy and enjoyment in 2018 … wonderful for older joints … imagine enjoying wine and relaxing at will when one chooses! No issues with stairs as my jewel is on the ground floor.

Two bedrooms and two full baths allow myself and guests privacy. No shortage of closets and built-ins in each room for the ladies consideration. A large storage bodega, a covered parking space and an all teak wood, screened, tiki hut complete with entry doors, festive lights, a ceiling fan and hooks for 2 hammocks to enjoy a beverage of one’s choice to view the beautiful sunsets to close out a busy day alone or with others. A full time property keeper lives on premises and provides maintenance and gate opening service for entrance into condominium grounds 24/7. There is a $130 monthly property fee.

A typical day living in my jewel

Arise refreshed after a peaceful night’s sleep, enjoy a cup of Ecuadorian coffee while surveying the beach & waves seated at the dining room table and a light breakfast, go for a walk on the beach collecting shells, meet friends for a $3.00 lunch of soup, entree, & a glass of juice, return home for an online Spanish lesson, take a siesta followed by a swim or float in the pool beside your door.

Later, it’s enjoy a “pour at four” in the tiki hut while lounging in the hammock, walk to fishing boats to purchase your fresh seafood, enjoy a “pour at six” while cooking your dinner which you will enjoy at the dining room table or out in the tiki hut with ambience of soft lighting and the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. End the evening with a soak in the warm water of the jacuzzi while the jets envelope you in relaxing bubbles.
